TROUT FISHING
There's something about fishing a mountain stream that is good for the soul. The ambient sounds of the forest and running water, the tranquillity of the pools, standing waist-deep in waders flicking a line over the deep flowing waters, and wham! A big rainbow or brown trout rises and the fight is on! That's real magic.
SCENIC FLIGHTS
Arcing through the air over the pristine lakes of Rotorua and Rotoiti has to be experienced to be believed. In the distance, you can see the Blue and Green Lakes, so named due to their strikingly different colours. If you are lucky, you could skirt the mysterious northwestern edges of Te Urewera National Park, ancestral home of the Tuhoe people.
